ABOUT
For any child, growing up provides its own set of challenges. Whether it is trying to fit in with the cool kids or dealing with personal insecurities, being a child naturally brings trials. But on top of those typical growing pains, imagine how much harder it would be to grow up homeless. Unfortunately, that is the case for many children in Orange County.
There are about 30,000 homeless children in Orange County who either live in a motel, shelter or doubled or tripled up with other families. When FLOCK’s founder Angela Joe heard this statistic, she knew she had to do something and that is when FLOCK was born.
Fullerton’s Love of Orange County Kids, otherwise known as FLOCK, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to end the cycle of child homelessness in Orange County. Specifically, FLOCK supports children who are identified as homeless through the McKinney-Vento Act. These kids lack a regular and adequate nighttime residence, which can have a huge impact on their ability to learn and succeed in their academic and personal environments.
With the support of our generous sponsors, FLOCK has created a scholarship program that saves these homeless children from financial worries and allows them to just be kids.
These children are our future. It is FLOCK’s hope that these bright minds will have the opportunity to help create a better tomorrow. Become part of FLOCK’s story today.
